First Visit

Patient First Visit Exam
We are always excited to meet new patients! Your first visit begins with a comprehensive oral evaluation. Our team will develop a treatment plan to help you achieve and maintain a healthy smile. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have about treatment options during your visit.

When you come in for your initial visit, please be sure to bring your dental insurance card and arrive early to fill out your initial paperwork if you have not already done so. Please bring a list of any medications you are taking. If you need antibiotics prior to dental work, please take them as prescribed. If you are not sure if you need antibiotics, please contact your doctor prior to your visit.

Whether you need a cleaning, a filling, or even a brand-new smile, we are here to help. Great dental care doesn’t just make for a fantastic smile, it also helps promote overall health and wellness. If you have a special occasion coming up or are interested in brightening your smile, ask us about whitening or other cosmetic dental options. We want you to have the confidence to share your smile with the world!

Pediatric Age 1 First Visit

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentists recommend that children receive their first dental check-up by the age of 1. These first visits can help your child begin to get comfortable in a dental setting and allow us to observe any dental changes from an early age. Informing your child about their first dental visit is very helpful. During the visit, we will get to know your child and help them feel comfortable in the office by explaining what will happen during the visit and showing them the tools we will use to help keep their smile healthy.

We encourage parents to accompany their child during their visit. This provides an opportunity to see us working with your child and allows us to discuss dental findings and treatment needs directly with you. At your child’s first visit, we will review your child’s medical/dental health history with you, perform a thorough head and neck examination, and evaluate your child’s teeth and gums. Digital radiographs (x-rays) are taken only if necessary. If no treatment is needed, the teeth will be cleaned and a fluoride treatment will be provided.

We look forward to meeting you and your child for your first appointment!

We are always excited to meet new patients! During your initial consultation at XXXXXX Orthodontics, Dr. XXXXXXXXX will discuss your motivation and goals for seeking orthodontic treatment. Our team will review any x-rays and notes provided by your dentist and will create images of your teeth and the surrounding tissues using cameras and x-rays to help determine if orthodontic treatment is indicated. We will then present your diagnosis and recommend treatment options, working to develop a plan that best fits your individual needs. We will discuss treatment options and timelines, as well as costs and payment options for any proposed treatments.

Once your treatment plan and financial arrangements have been determined, we will schedule the first series of appointments to begin orthodontic treatment and will provide you with an estimated timeline for future visits. Your first appointment generally takes about 1 hour and will need to be scheduled during the morning. After this appointment, you will return for adjustments and evaluations every 4-6 weeks. These appointments will only take between 15-20 minutes and can be scheduled in the afternoons.

When you come in for your initial consultation, please be sure to bring your insurance card (if applicable) and arrive early to fill out our initial paperwork if you have not already done so.

We look forward to seeing you in our office and showing you how orthodontic care can enhance your dental health and overall wellness. We want you to have the confidence to share your smile with the world!
